The Hunter Radio Group Inc has been going since 1922 and meets every month. Members also catch up for on air callbacks after the weekly news broadcast by VK2AWX on Monday nights and on the local VK2RNC VHF repeater.
If you’re looking at getting into Amateur Radio, we can help! Please go to our Contact Us page for details. Operating on the many frequencies we have access to requires various assessments. We can help you prepare for these and join the ranks of the ‘hams’.
Membership are $20 per year payable January/February each year unless you join after that then its 12 months from that joining date.

Meetings
Guests are most welcome to join us for any of the Thursday evening meetings. We welcome new members to join the Club.
Place: Tighes Hill TAFE, Basden Building J, Telecommunication Lecture Room, Newcastle.
Time: Meeting commences at 6.30 pm.
Ending: The evening generally concludes around 9.00 pm

Broadcasts
HRG operates a 30 minute weekly news broadcast via VK2AWX at 7:30pm on Monday nights on the following frequencies 146.975 MHz FM and on 438.025 MHz FM. Callbacks are taken after the broadcast on both frequencies. Paul VK2BPL has kindly offered to take the callbacks on 70cm. The club also operates a CLUB chat night on Wednesday nights at 1930 hrs on 146.975 MHz. ALL WELCOME.
Repeaters
The VK2RNC repeater and beacon network operates from Mt Sugarloaf.
